Today Alex and Emma came back from Pontevedra where they were participating in the Spanish Table Tennis Championships. Alex played very well and although the stiff competition prevented him from making it to the the finals, he played very well. Congratulations however must go to Emma who won the title of Spanish Champion in her category (Benjamin Femenino). Emma also won silver in the team game and bronze in the doubles. Well done Emma and Alex!

Following their recent visit to Chocolate factories in the area as part of their study of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Year 6 Have been baking chocolate cakes. Ms Lubaczewska, Miss Jones and I had the pleasure of judging the best cakes and costumes from each class.

Verena, Ernesto, Toby and Tara all attended a Gala Dinner held in their honour in Madrid recently. All the King´s Academic Scholars from Madrid, Alicante and England were invited by Sir Roger Fry , Chairman, in recognition of their outstanding academic success in public examinations. Each of the scholars was presented with a certificate to mark their achievements. Claudia, who was unable to attend, received a congratulatory letter from Sir Roger Fry.

Congratulations to Emma (Y6) who finished second in the “Torneo Estatal¨. She played 9 matches, won eight and lost only in the final.

On Saturday 26th January we welcomed 24 prospective families to our Nursery Open Morning. It was lovely to meet all the families, particularly the youngsters who all enjoyed their visit to our Early Years classrooms. Mrs Verkijk, our Admissions Officer was delighted with the response and is looking forward to welcoming other new families for all year groups in the coming weeks.
